The MA Designer Maker Design Show is the graduation showcase for Camberwell’s MA Designer Maker program, featuring a wide range of products including ceramics, furniture, jewelry, and more. As part of UAL Camberwell’s broader graduate exhibitions, this show highlights the diversity and innovation of our graduating cohort. After researching and evaluating all participants’ works, our exhibition planning team drew inspiration from the symbolic idea of a flower in bloom. We selected “bloom” as this year’s theme to represent growth, creativity, and the unfolding of new ideas.
In designing the accompanying posters, I aimed to capture both the variety of makers and the breadth of their creations. To convey this sense of inclusivity, I incorporated multiple languages—each spelling out “bloom” in a different script—to reflect the multicultural makeup of our group as well as the global nature of contemporary design. Photographic collages of students’ work were integrated to showcase the tactile elements of ceramics, the craftsmanship of jewelry, and the sculptural qualities of furniture. The final poster series was enthusiastically received, with the MA Designer Maker official Instagram account and numerous designers sharing it widely, contributing to a highly successful exhibition outcome.
